Casa Luxembourg is an interior design project for a Romanian couple living close to Luxembourg, that wanted a Romanian architecture firm to design their new space. Some of the challenges of this project were supervising the work, finding a solution for the premium materials that in Luxembourg were bought at a higher price level, integrating some of the old furniture and creating a suitable place for their kid.
Concept and execution
The house has a clean, basic look. The chromatic uses natural tones with different touches of warm colours. The dining area is enriched with black chairs and lights as decorating objects. In order to reintegrate the old, wood furniture, a mix of different kind of essences was used. The open space, composed of living room and dining area, has a travertin stone wall giving the place a powerful attitude.
The attic needed to be reorganized to create the kid’s room, partitioned in two areas (night and study) divided by a revolving TV unit system.
For a smaller budget dedicated to the premium materials, the solution was to send from Romania with containers. The project was supervised via Skype and site visiting in the essential moments.
