HOW TO REINVENT YOUR LIVING ROOM

Type: residential, living interior design
Surface: 50 sqm
Location: Ilfov, Corbeanca

Context
Big spaces are not necessarily enough. If not managed properly, it could create an impersonal and cold atmosphere. In a house with lots of family members, storage could be a problem and a big space poorly designed would be a total waste of resources. The living room is a multi purpose space. Our client imagined his living room to be a cosy and well restructured space.

Concept and execution
The space was divided into three areas, one for entertaining, the central one with the piano and the fireplace and a generous dining space. In order to create the illusion of a smaller place, the walls were dressed with natural pieces such as wooden segments, a TV unit and a bookcase that transforms into a bench. The bench follows the shape of the wall to accentuate the paintings, creating a warm and comfortable place.
The piano is also dressed in wooden lamellar sections in order to create unity and a visual aesthetic. The carpet with Romanian motives, the massive wood of the bookcase and dining table, the fireplace, the white chairs and the yellow touch transforms the space into a welcoming living room.
